Organization design in health care system. The up-to-date Henry Mintzberg studies

   Aim of the article is to illustrate the importance of studies of H. Mintzberg for the organizational design of health. Discusses the legal constraints of organizational design in health in Italy, the author cites the major elements of organizational theories of H.Mintzberg, particularly in the professional bureaucracy, the adhocrazia and the divisional solution. The author proposes the adoption of forms of organization based on the principle of grouping by customer/product, then to the market, considered more effective than those based on the principle of grouping by function to manage care processes interdepartmental. Finally, the author proposes the formation of IMID Centers in reference to the need to provide diagnostic and therapeutic pathways, prevention and rehabilitation of multidisciplinary and poliprofessional in patients with immune mediated inflammatory disorders.
