IMID Scientific Biennal

_____________________________
The IMID UNIT of Campi Salentina is glad to announce the 6th edition of the scientific biennial, with the purpose of characterising and defining its own research and educational activities, together with several prestigious partners, on the wide spectrum of diseases of purely immune-toxic-metabolic etiology.
The 2010 meeting will be held in Lecce, march 4-6.
Issues like the great challenges of inflammation, cancerogenesis, allergy and autoimmunity are on top of the list of major topics.
No more acceptable scientific evidences reveal how the major inflammatory chronic diseases, and their progression, are actually influenced by the contribution of dynamic and noxious interactions of biological systems in the body, and also by environmental factors and diet.
Nowadays, most therapeutic treatments for these complex disorders involves mainly drugs aimed to stop symptoms, right after a diagnosis has been made, tipically, a DRG precodified diagnosis.
An appropriate, multi-disciplinary, in-depth examination on the nature of these complex pathologic interactions might provide new and shared evidences, which, in turn, will be propedeutic to important upto-date necessary therapy-specific protocols of prevention, diagnosis and, most of all, oriented to establish and neutralize the primary causes of diseases.
So, the final goal of this scientific event will be to try and assess the causes, to clarify the effects, to define treatments and to organize efficient and long-lasting prevention protocols, aimed to tackle chronic inflammatory disorders and their frightful progressions.
